Founded in 2018 by Jhoanna Belfer, a Filipina-American poet and former hospitality executive, Bel Canto Books is a Long Beach, CA based indie bookstore with a standalone bookstore on 4th Street/Retro Row, as well as satellite locations inside KUBO LB and Steel Cup Cafe.

Known for their BIPOC-centered book curation, events, and book clubs, Bel Canto Books has hosted renowned authors like John Cho, Stacey Abrams, Elise Bryant, Christina Lauren, and Angie Kim and is cofounder of the Festival of AAPI Books (FAB) Long Beach and Liwanag Lit Fest.
